Morning,
Last Wednesday,
we held a webinar with Ballard Spahr to answer many questions
about the new
FDCPA rule.
Our
special guest for the webinar was Stefanie
Jackman, one of
Ballard Spahr's top CFPB collection attorneys.
We covered a lot of territory, and
Stefanie answered many questions about this new rule that became
effective on November 30th.
The most significant issue for us as
small-dollar lenders is the new restriction on collection calls
of one call in seven days and no more than seven call attempts
in seven days.
As in any new process, there are often
more questions than answers. Stefanie addressed many of those
questions. We are making that information available again to our
members.
